The set of model properties is the same for all versions contained in it. Operations with the set of properties for models with versions and with no versions are the same (see section Property Management).
Note that the set of model properties can be edited when working with any of its versions.
Property values may vary for different model versions.
When creating a new version, all values of the properties of the original version are copied to it. The Designation property is the exception. Not all the designations are transferred to a new version, but only its base part and code. The version number is generated by the system or set by the user.
Changes to properties made for one of the versions are transferred to the other versions, as well as to variants of the model, for which this version is the original. Properties transfer has certain features.
You can use the Parameter panel, the Part composition panel or the Versions control dialog to edit property values.

The name of the version can be changed in the Tree of Versions using the Rename command from the context menu or the <F2> key. |
Editing properties using the Parameter Toolbar
Values of the version properties can be edited when working with the properties of this version on the Parameter panel.
Use the following commands for operating version properties:
•in the Versions tree – the Version properties command in the context menu of the required version,
•in the Model design tree or current version Design tree – invoke Model properties command from the context menu of the root element of the Tree. In this case, the properties of the current model version are being edited.
Changing property values is done for an execution in the same way as for a model.
Editing properties in the Property editor and Document manager
Properties of the current version can be edited in the Property editor (see sections Property editor and Setting property values).
If you want to change the property values of several implementations, use the Versions control dialog. You can set the display of columns with all the desired properties and set the property values for the different executions.
Property values in the Document manager can be edited in the cells of these properties. Except for the following properties:
•Designation — to be edited in the Designation dialog,
•Material, Density, Weight — editing is performed in the dialog box CMP,
•BOM Section — editing is performed in the dialog box Select section (see section Adding BOM section and item,
•Substitute material and Coating values are selected from an external reference (the reference must be connected to the KOMPAS-3D system).
The dialogs for editing properties are called by clicking in the cell of the corresponding property.
The Versions control dialog box can contain properties created from variables. The features of editing these properties are described in the sections Setting values of user variables and Additional options for working with variables.
