To check the geometry of the model, use the command Geometry check
.
Procedure
1.Specify the objects to be checked in the graphic area or in the Model tree. Objects in the graphic area can be specified with the mouse, selected by encompassing or cutting marquee. If you need to specify objects of a certain type, use filters. The selected objects will be highlighted and their names will be displayed in the Objects field on the Parameter panel.
The check is performed for the selected object and all objects included in it, so to check all objects in the model, select the root element of the Tree.
|
The check for non-parallelism is performed among the objects directly added to the Objects field. If you select a body or component, the check will not detect any errors. Therefore, you should enable a filter corresponding to the type of objects being checked, for example, Edges, and select the required objects in the Tree or in the graphic area. |
2.Enable the desired verification options in groups Solid/surface check, Faces check and Size and position check. Details about geometry check options...
3.Enter values in the fields of the Check criteria group.
•Length — the length value against which checks are performed. Specified in millimeters.
•Angle — the value of the angle relative to which the checks are performed. Specified in degrees.
•Size — the value of the cube side length against which the dimension check is performed. Specified in millimeters.
•CS — coordinate system relative to which the non-parallelism check is performed. The default is current coordinate system. You can select another coordinate system. If there is no suitable coordinate system in the model, create it by clicking the Design LCS
.The corresponding subprocess will be launched. Perform the same actions as in the command Design LCS
.
4.You can exclude objects of skeleton geometry from the check, and/or standard parts, and/or hidden objects. To do this, enable the corresponding options in the Exclude from check group. Details about excluding objects from the check...
5.Run the geometry check. To do this, click the Run check link in the Results table header on the Parameter panel. The graphic area will display a progress bar.
You can stop the check by clicking the Cancel button in the bar with the progress bar or the Stop link in the Results table header.
The check results are displayed in the table and depend on the type of check. Details about check results...
6.If you need to save or print the results of the geometry check, use the commands of Information window. To open the Information window, click the Show in the information window
over the table Results. The button is available if the table contains at least one row.
7.To zoom in on geometry check objects, select the required row in the Results table and click the Zoom to selected objects button
.
8.If the model contains several identical components with the same error, then this error is presented in the Results table as one line. When it is selected in the graphic area, the object with the geometry error in the first component found is highlighted. If you want to display all components with this error, then click the Show for all occurrences
button.
|
If any of the identical components are changed by an operation in the assembly, they are considered unique. Each of them is checked independently of the others, and the check result is displayed in the results table as a separate row. The same applies to insertions of components that have an external variable with different values. |
|
The results table may contain identical rows. This happens, for example, if a component and its face are selected for testing. |
9.You can leave only the object in which the geometry error occurred in the graphic area. To do this, enable the Hide environment option and select the row of the required object in the Results table.
If the Show for all occurrences
button is pressed, then all components with this error will be displayed in the graphic area.
|
The ability to hide the environment is only available for variants of draw Base and Enhanced. |
10.To save the model geometry check parameters, click the Save
button in the Parameter panel header. You can enter the check name in the Name field of the Properties section.
After saving the check parameters, an object with the corresponding icon appears in the Design tree.
. The command does not stop working. You can change the check parameters and run a new geometry check. If the check parameters change, the Recalculate link appears in the Results table header.
11.To complete the Geometry check command, click the Finish
button in the Parameter panel header.
|
If the Hide environment option was enabled, then after the command is completed, hidden objects do not appear automatically: only the selected object is displayed in the graphic area. To show all objects in the model, click the icon |
