Building array by concentric grid |
Scroll |
To build an array, the instances of which are located at the nodes of a concentric grid, use the Array by concentric grid command.
.
Procedure
1.Select the source objects to build the array. To do this, in the Select objects specify the required objects and click the Create object
.
The Array controls appear on the Parameter panel. The names of the selected objects are displayed in the Objects field.
|
If objects are specified before the Array by grid command is called, the object selection subprocess is not started. The system immediately proceeds to building the array. If you need to select other source objects, click the Objects link and specify new objects in the object selection subprocess. |
2.Set the center of the array by concentric grid. To do this, enter the coordinates of the center in the Center field of the Coordinates section or specify the point with the mouse in the graphic area.
After specifying the center, a phantom of the array being created will appear in the graphic area. The array instances are located at the nodes of the concentric grid. The base points of the instances coincide with the grid nodes. The base point of the original instance is determined automatically.

Scheme of formation of an array by concentric grid
Each instance is automatically rotated so that its position relative to the radial line on which it is located coincides with the position of the original instance relative to the X-axis of the absolute coordinate system.
3.You can change the base point of the original instance by specifying a different key point instead. To do this, click the Point link in the Base point group on the Parameter panel. The field will display the text Specify point. Specify the required key point of the original object. After specifying the point, the Point field will display the text Point specified.
4.Set mesh parameters in circular and radial directions using element groups Circular direction and Radial direction. More...
The grid parameters can also be changed in the graphic area by moving the characteristic points. More...
5.If you want the array to be automatically dimensioned, enable the Show sizes option. More...
6.You can delete some instances of the array and restore the deleted ones using the section Deleted instances. More...
7.To complete the array building, click the button Create object
.
An array will be created in the document. An object with an icon
will appear in the Document tree. More about array display in Tree...
Along with the array, a center point is also created, which is part of the array.
Array objects are automatically constrained to Array by concentric Grid. The following Array by grid constraint icons are displayed next to array objects:
— at the source object,
— for copy objects,
— at the center point of the array.
Object constraints are displayed in the graphic area in constrained view mode or when you select array objects.
