Dimension fixation |
Scroll |
Fixation is available for dimensions of all types, except the following:
•arc dimension,
•level dimension for top view with leader,
•level dimension directly on the image,
•linear dimension with a break.
|
Automatic fixation of a linear dimension with a broken line is possible if it is set for the segment and the centerline. Details... |
To fix the value of an associative dimension, the Fix Dimension
command is used.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify a linear, diameter, radial or angular dimension to fix its value.
A constraint Fixed dimension will be applied to the dimension.
|
Non-associated (having no snap) or excessive dimensions (calculated using previously placed dimensions) cannot be fixed. |
After fixing a dimension, a rectangular marquee will appear around the dimension text. It is displayed in the graphic range if in the current document tab the Enabled display constraints. This marquee will not be printed.
2.To end the command, click the Finish
button.
Dimensions can be locked automatically when set in parametric mode. To do this, the Fix dimensions option and the Dimensions option in the Create as associative list must be enabled when setting up parametric mode. Parametric mode is configured for a graphic document in the section Parametrization of setting dialog box, and for sketch in model — in the section Sketch. The constraint will arise when setting associative non-redundant sizes.
|
When dimensions are fixed automatically, they are also assigned names of variables. |
In constraint display mode Values of fixed dimensions are displayed in a rectangular marquee.
