Shape and base deviation

To set up drawing of shape and base deviation designations for the current graphical document, see the Deviation of form and base section of the setup dialog box.

To access the section, call the Settings — Parameters... command and in the dialog box that appears select Current document — Symbols for mechanical engineering — Deviation of form and base.

The dialog box allows you to set the parameters that will be used by default when setting tolerances of shape and surface location, as well as base designations.

Triangle

The drop-down list allows you to select a triangle design option when drawing base or form tolerance markings.

The following options are available:

•Fill with black,

•Do not black out.

The shaping tolerance arrow shading is subject to the setting made for the sizes.

Font options

Font	The drop-down list allows you to select the required font. The list contains all fonts connected to the OS.	2.2
Different from default font	The option allows you to set the font to match or differ from the document's default font. If the option is disabled, the font always matches the default.	2.2
Style	The element group allows you to specify straight, italic, or thickened characters.	2.2
Color	A field that displays the current color of the symbol. To change the color, click in the field.	2.2
Height, mm	The field allows you to enter a character height value (in millimeters) or select this value from the drop-down list. The manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.	2.2
Width, %	The field allows you to enter a character width value or select the value from the drop-down list. A manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.	2.2
Preview	The preview window shows the appearance of the text. This allows you to visually evaluate the changes made.	—

The height of the triangle is determined automatically by the system. According to GOST 2.308-2023 it is equal to the height of the font of dimensional numbers.

The height of the frame is also determined automatically. According to the mandatory Annex A to GOST 2.308-2023 it is equal to twice the height of the font used in the form tolerance caption.

After completing the settings, click Apply and close the dialog box. To exit the dialog box without changing the settings, click Cancel.
