Surface finish

You can customize surface finish designation parameters for the current graphic document in the Surface finish section of setting dialog box.

To access the section, call the command Setting — Parameters... and in the dialog box that appears, select Current document — Designations for mechanical engineering — Surface finish.

The drop-down list allows you to select the structure of the surface finish designations. The following options are available:

•With a change №3,

•Previous edition.

If you change this setting for the current document, all existing roughness designations in the current document are rebuilt.

Font parameters

Font	The drop-down list allows you to select the desired font. The list contains all fonts connected to the OS.	2.2
Different from default font	The option allows you to set whether the font matches or differs from the default document font. If the option is disabled, the font is always the same as the default.	2.2
Style	The element group allows you to specify straight, italic, or thickened characters.	2.2
Color	A field that displays the current color of the symbol. To change the color, click in the field.	2.2
Height, mm	The field allows you to enter a character height value (in millimeters) or select this value from the drop-down list. The manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.	2.2
Width, %	The field allows you to enter a character width value or select the value from the drop-down list. A manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.	2.2
Preview	The preview window shows the appearance of the text. This allows you to visually evaluate the changes made.	—

The blackening of the arrows and the thickness of the serif line (to indicate surface finish on the landing) is subject to the adjustment made for the dimensions.

The text settings made in this dialog box apply to the surface finish designations stamped on the surface images.

After completing the settings, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without changing the settings, click Cancel.
