You can customize position designations for the current graphic document in the section Position designations of setting dialog box.

To access the section, call the command Settings — Parameters... and in the dialog box that appears, select Current document — Designations for mechanical engineering — Position designation.

The dialog allows you to configure geometric parameters of designations, shape and text parameters , select a variant of drawing arrows of position designations. Using the arrow filter you can specify which arrows will be available when creating position labels, set their sequence in the list and select the default option.

Arrows

The drop-down list allows you to select the option of drawing arrows of position designations. The following options are available:

To fill with black,

Do not black out.

Geometric parameters

Arrow length, mm

Arrow angle, deg

Distance from landing to text, mm

Distance from the beginning of the landing to the text, mm

Landing overhang beyond the text, mm

Indent in front of text behind the landing, mm

Group of fields for specifying values of geometrical parameters of position designations. The parameter value is entered in the field. Click on the icon allows you to select a value from the drop-down list.

Form parameters

Form type

The drop-down list allows you to select the desired type of item designation form. The following options are available:

Simple text,

Open text,

Circle,

Hexagon,

Circle with divider.

2.1

Mold size

The field is used to specify the size of the position designations with the «Circle», «Hexagon», «Circle with separator» shape type. The size value (in millimeters) can be set manually or selected from the list.

For the «Circle» shape type, this value defines the diameter, for the «Hexagon» shape type — the diameter of the inscribed circle, for the «Circle with separator» shape type — the radius.

If the shape size is too small, the position numbers may extend beyond the icons.

To change the font height of position numbers, use the controls of the Font parameters group (see description below).

1.1

Location of the designation

The drop-down list allows you to select the layout of item designations containing multiple item numbers. The following options are available:

Horizontally — item numbers will be arranged in a row,

Vertically — item numbers will be arranged in a column.

2.1

Form a landing

The option controls the drawing of the shelf of the position leader.

For items with the «Simple text» form type, the shelf is a regular leader landing with text above it. For other form types, the landing is — is a segment connecting the text to the leader line.

Examples of item designation form types are given in the section Position designation parameters.

Font parameters

Font

The drop-down list allows you to select the desired font. The list contains all fonts connected to the OS.

2.2

Different from default font

The option allows you to set the font to match or differ from the document's default font.

If the option is disabled, the font always matches the default.

2.2

Style

The elements group allows you to set the straight, italic or thickened character layout.

2.2

Color

A field that displays the current color of the symbol. To change the color, click in the field.

2.2

Height, mm

The field allows you to enter a character height value (in millimeters) or select this value from the drop-down list. The manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.

2.2

Width, %

The field allows you to enter a character width value or select the value from the drop-down list. A manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.

2.2

Preview

The preview window shows the appearance of the text. This allows you to visually evaluate the changes made.

Line spacing, mm

The field allows you to enter a value for the distance between lines of text.

Arrow filter

Arrow filter

The list contains the names and examples of all types of arrows for position designation leader lines available in the system.

To the right of the arrow names are options that allow you to enable or disable the display of the corresponding arrow types in the Arrow list on the Parameters panel when working with leader lines. Arrows with options next to their names are available in the document: they appear in the list from which you select an arrow type when creating an object.

The No Arrow option is unavailable. It can't be disabled; it's always available when creating dimensions in documents.

The option in the list header allows you to enable or disable the display of all types of arrows in the list at once. This option can have one of three states:

enabled  — all options in the list are enabled (all types of arrows present in the list are available on the Parameters Panel),

not defined  — the list contains both enabled and disabled options (arrow types with enabled options are shown on the Parameters Panel, while those with disabled options are not),

disabled  — all options in the list are disabled (only the No arrow option is available on the Parameters Panel; the other arrows in the list are unavailable).

If the option's state is undefined, clicking on the option will disable it, and clicking again will enable it.

1.2

Move up

Move down

The buttons allow you to customize the order of arrows in the list.

To change the position of an arrow, select it and click the desired button. The selected arrow will move one position in the specified direction.

The arrow order set in this dialog is transferred to the list from which the arrow type is selected when creating an object. The arrow at the top of the list becomes the default.

If the first or first few arrows in the list are disabled, the first enabled arrow becomes the default.

To speed up the creation of objects in a document, it is recommended to place the most frequently used arrow type first, followed by the remaining arrow types in descending order of frequency.
