Notes on using certain types of objects in sketches |

Broken line, rectangle, polygon
A broken line build in a sketch is automatically divided into separate segments (and it does not remain a single object, as when working with a graphic document). In parametric mode, the Point Coincidence constraints are applied to the vertices of the broken line. A broken line copied into a sketch from a graphic document remains a single object (i.e. it is not broken into segments).
Rectangles and polygons built in a sketch can be divided into separate segments or remain as single objects. This depends on the Explode Object option. Details...
If you want to build chamfers or fillets at the corners of a rectangle, polygon, broken line, mind the following.
A rectangle/polygon divided into segments or a broken line constructed in a sketch is a set of individual segments. To build chamfers and fillets at the intersection of these segments, use the Chamfer
and Fillet

If a rectangle/polygon is created as a single object (without splitting into segments), then use the Chamfer Object Corners
and Fillet Object Corners
.
Text
A sketch may contain text. After exiting the sketch, all the texts contained in it are automatically converted into one or more contours consisting of spline curves.
Sometimes, automatic transformation may result in contours that do not satisfy the requirements of the operation, for example, tangent contours. In these cases, you can try to change the caption font. If the contour is still not suitable for the operation, you can apply the Transform to Spline
command to the text in the sketch. The resulting lines will no longer be the text (i.e. to edit the caption, you will need to enter the text and transform it into the spline again), however, they will repeat the contours of the characters, and you can correct the sketch so that it meets the requirements of the operation.

Macro-elements, inserted into a sketch from libraries or copied from graphic documents using the clipboard should be split into separate components using the Explode

Fragments, inserted sketch include the following features:
•Geometric objects of the fragment are perceived as if they were created in a sketch, i.e., they are displayed in the model window after exiting the sketch mode and can be used in operations. Texts and macro-elements present in the fragment are visible only in sketch mode and are inaccessible outside of it. To use these objects, the fragment insertion in the sketch needs to be exploded (the macro-element remains a single object even after the insertion is exploded, so it needs to be exploded again).
•If a fragment was inserted by reference, the changes made in the fragment file are transferred to the sketch.
•Snap to the fragment's objects is performed, but constraints at that, do not arise. It is also impossible to select fragment's objects when applying constraints manually.
Service designations, tables, hatches
In the sketch you can’t create process designations, tables, hatches and certain other objects.
If any of such objects were included in the sketch (for example, were copied from a graphic document), this will not prevent further work. These objects will just be omitted when forming a volumetric element. However they will be saved in the sketch. They can be viewed when editing the sketch.
