Fragment Insertion |

To insert the contents of the fragment, perform the following actions.
1.Invoke the Fragment...
command
After the command is executed, the "Open File" dialog will appear on the screen.
Select the required file in this dialog box and click Open. The filename is displayed in the Source file field on the Parameters panel. When a file is selected, a phantom of the image of this file will appear in the graphic area.
If it is required to change an insertion source, click Source file link and select another file.
2.Please select the fragment insertion method by pressing the corresponding button in the Method of Insertion group:
By reference,
By embedding,
With explosion.

3.Enter the name of the insert in the corresponding field. This field is displayed on the Parameters panel if you use the By reference or By embedding method. The name you specify will be displayed in the Document tree. By default the full path of the source file is used as the name of the insertion.
4.If needed, please set the rotation angle and the scale factor in the corresponding field in the Parameters panel.

5.Select the method of placing the insertion objects in the layers, by clicking the desired button in the Location group:
To current layer – the entire image is located on one (current) layer of a fragment or a view of the drawing.
To source layers — objects are allocated in the document on layers with the same numbers as in the inserted fragment.

6.Using the Scale Leader Lines option, please select if you want to scale the length of the extension lines and dimension leaders in the insertion.
•If the option is disabled, the length of the extension lines and leaders will be preserved the same as in the source file.
•If the option is enabled, the length of the leader lines and will change depending on the selected scaling ratio.

Once configured, the option is stored in the insertion and is taken into account when changing the scale of the master view or the scale of the insertion (the Scale Leader Lines option is ignored). |
7.When inserting a parametric fragment, you can control its external variables. Details...
8.Use one of the following methods to set the position of the base point of the insertion:
•set the fragment insertion point,
•enter the coordinates in the Base Point field of the Coordinates group.
After the base point is set, the fragment insertion is automatically completed. The system waits for the next place for an insertion.
9.To complete operation of the command, click Finish

You can Insert a fragment from an element library. If you do that, the Source File field won't be present in the Parameters panel. |
If a fragment is inserted into a drawing, the insertion is placed in the current view of drawing. This view becomes the Parent view of insertion.
