Splitting cells |
Scroll |
To split a cell or a range of selected table cells into several cells, use the Split the cells
command.
Calling of that command displays the Split Cells. In it, it is required to set a number of rows and columns into which a cell(s) needs to be split.
If the command is applied to a range of selected cells, then its result depends on the state of the Merge cells before splitting option.
•If the option is enabled, then the selected cells are merged and the resultant cell is spit into a pre–set number of rows and columns.
•If the option is disabled, then each of the selected cells is split into a pre–set number of rows and columns.
|
If the selected cells form a non–rectangular block, then they can’t be merged, so the Merge cells before splitting option is unavailable. This option is also unavailable on splitting the only cell. |
The cell properties and formatting parameters of the text of new cells are inherited from the source cell. If cells were merged prior to splitting, then properties and parameters of formatting are inherited from the upper left cell of the range.
