Creating a table

To create tables in a text document, use the Table... command.

The command is available if the paragraph where the cursor is placed is empty or contains the given text. In the latter case creation of a table automatically generates a new empty paragraph where the table is placed.

If the paragraph with the cursor contains any object, for example, a figure, a vertical text or another table, then the command is not available.

Each table created is inserted into the text as a single paragraph.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Fetch the Table... command.

On the screen, there will appear New Table dialog.

2.In the dialog, set the table parameters (number of columns and rows, cell size, header position) or select an existing table as a prototype.

3.Click the Create button in the dialog.
The dialog will close. The new table will be created and displayed in the graphic area. The cursor will be automatically placed into the upper left cell of the table. The controls for configuring the table will appear in the Parameters Panel.

4.Enter the desired text into the table cells.

5.If necessary, configure parameters for the text and the table cells, and edit its structure. To do this, use the Parameters panel controls (described in the section Text input subprocess).

6.To complete entering text and configuring the table, click Create object .

If you want to abort the configuration, click Complete .

Editing a table

The parameters of the table and the text in it can be changed by entering the editing process.

During editing, the Parameter Panel displays controls used to configure parameters of the table and the text in its cells, which are the same as when creating a table (description of the controls see in the section Text input subprocess).

Make the necessary changes in the table and click Create object .

If you want to discard changes, click Finish .

Copying, moving, changing the position of a table

If necessary, you can change the table's location relative to the entry field borders and the distance between it and the adjacent paragraphs. To do this, configure the paragraph containing the table (see the section Changing paragraph properties).

Full-width alignment for a table will be equivalent to left alignment.

Tables in a text document can be copied and transferred via the clipboard. These actions are performed the same way as when copying and moving text fragments (see the section Copying and pasting text through the Clipboard).
