Length of Bend Flat Pattern |
Scroll |
When you create/edit a sheet element containing bends, you can configure how to determine the length of bend flat pattern for this element.
You can determine the length of bend flat pattern in various ways. Select the required method in the Length Determination Method list located in the Flat Pattern section. The following options are available:
Depending on the selected method, the Variables bar will show a field to enter parameter values or a field containing the path to the bend table file.
You can specify the default method for determining the flat pattern length for new models in the Sheet solid properties for new models. In each particular model, you can change a default method for determining the flat pattern length in the Sheet Solid Properties dialog box for a current part.
The order of determining the flat pattern length in each of the methods is further discussed in this section.

The chosen method of flat pattern length determination is important for cylindrical and conical bends. If the shape of the bend surface is different (ruled, spherical, surface by path), then the result of its unbending is conditional and does not depend on the parameter that determines the length of the flat pattern. Ruled surface bends can result from shell rings, and bends with toroidal surface and surface by path – as a result of plotting flanges. |

If the sheet element includes multiple bends (for example, an incision), the chosen method of defining the flat pattern length initially applies to all of those bends. If required, you can change the setting for the selected bend. |
