Changing object parameters with launching the editing process

Scroll

The object parameters can be changed in the process of editing. To start this process, select the desired object in the Design Tree or in the graphic area of the model and call the Edit command from the context menu or the Edit menu. Object Editing can also be started by double clicking on it.

When you switch to the editing process, the command used to build the selected object is launched.

In the graphics range of the model only the objects that precede the edited objects in the Design Tree will remain. In other words, the model temporarily returns to the state in which it was at the time of creation of the edited object.

On the Parameter Panels elements for setting object parameters will appear, and characteristic points will be displayed in the graphic area. The set of elements of the Parameter Panel and defining points is the same as in the construction of the object.

Parametrization methods in the process of objects editing are the same as in the objects creation – entering parameter values on the Parameter Panel and movement of characteristic points.

If reference objects or source objects were used for the object construction then they will be highlighted in the model graphic range and in the Design Tree.

Edit the necessary parameters of the object (set the new numerical values of the parameters or move the defining points, change the set of reference or source objects, etc.).

If in the dialog settings for displaying sizes and designations (see section Dimensions and Designations) the option Dimensions of sketches and operations is enabled, then when editing elements, the dimensions of the sketch are displayed on the screen and are available for modification. To change the dimension value double-click the dimension text.

To complete editing the object, click the Create object  button. The object will be rebuilt in accordance with the new parameter values.

The process for editing certain types of objects may be different. For example, editing a sketch requires a change in its geometry, and editing a model — in changing her properties.

Editing process does not apply to solids. To change solid configurations invoke the Properties of Solid command or highlight it and set the required values on the Parameter Panel. For solid geometry modification edit its elements, incl. extrusion element, chamfer, etc.
