Parameters modification without launching the editing process of the object |
Scroll |
You can view and change some parameters of selected objects without starting the process of editing them. Use the Parameter Panel.
Depending on the type of selected objects, the following parameters may be displayed on the Parameter Panel:
•display parameters – color, line style, vertex style, etc.,
•properties – object layer, name, designation, execution,
•status – control of fixation, visibility, inclusion into calculation, editing, projection to associative drawing,
•parameters specified when creating the object (for dimensions, designations, etc.),
•text embedded in the object,
•text style, font parameters and paragraph properties,
•spell checker language flag.
The general procedure of configuring the parameter values can be found in the Working with parameters of objects. Notes on working with parameters in model documents.
•Objects of the first level can be specified – axes and coordinate systems, detailing elements, curves and points, sketches, objects of construction geometry, components of the first level, solids built in the model, faces of these solids, etc.
•The set of parameters on the panel depends on the type of the selected object. For example, when you click on the dimension leader line, its parameters are displayed as a detailing element, and when you click on the dimension text, the text parameters of the dimension text are displayed.
•Parameter Variation is available for editing if the selected object has executions. Objects can be the current part, the current assembly, a component, or several identical components.
Parameter Variation is not available for editing if there are components in the selected group that are prohibited from being edited.
•For an object parameter, a value can be set by layer. In this case, the parameter value is determined by the value specified for the layer on which the object is located. Object parameters managed through layers include:
•visibility,
•editability,
•display parameters (color, optical properties, texture),
•projectability to associative drawings.
•Parameter values on the Parameter Panel are editable if this does not conflict with other parameters. For example, changing the display parameters is not available for a component if these parameters are set By source object, By source, or By layer.
•The Visibility parameter for the object is unavailable if all objects of this type are hidden using the Hide All Auxiliary Objects command (see section Managing the visibility of auxiliary objects).
•For the designation of the base, changing the parameter Datum symbol is unavailable if during its creation or editing, auto-sorting for letters in the designation was enabled (see section Base).
•Parameter Language is available if the leader line designation is selected.
•Parameters by which a report (Designation, Name, Mass and some other data) are available for the model itself, its components, and solids.

Objects inserted from libraries may have special options, particularly if these are envisaged in the library. E.g. structures created using the library Equipment: Metal structures possess parameters such as length/width/height of the profile, length/width/thickness of the plate. Display of special parameters for library components on the Parameter Toolbar depends on the Property List settings (see section Setup of current document properties list). Properties of macro-elements inserted from the library are displayed on the Parameter Panel depending on the settings (see section Library Macro-element Editing). |
