The state of the layer is determined by the values of the following properties:

Visibility — manages display of layer objects in the graphic area, it has two possible values:

Visible — objects of the layer are displayed both in the Tree and in the graphic area,

Hidden — objects of the layer are displayed only in the Tree, not in the graphic area.

Activity — controls the accessibility of layer objects and their elements when executing operations; it has two states:

Active — objects of the layer can be selected both in the Design Tree and in the graphic area; specifying primitives (faces, edges, vertices) of objects in the graphic area is available when performing any operations,

Background — objects of the layer can only be selected in the Tree; specifying primitives (faces, edges, vertices) of objects in the graphic area is available only in operations of measurements and analysis, but not in operations used for building/editing.

Editing — manages possibility of editing layer objects, has two values:

Enable Editing — objects of the layer are available for performing editing operations,

Disable Editing — the layer objects are unavailable for editing operations.

Project to drawing — manages the capability to project the layer and its objects into an associative drawing, it has two possible values:

Project to drawing — objects of the layer can be projected into an associative drawing,

Do not project to drawing — layer objects cannot be projected into the associative drawing.

To transfer the layer property value to the object property, the object property must be set to By layer. This is the default value for the properties Visibility, Editing, and Projecting properties.

For example, the object lies on Layer 1. In order for an object to be hidden when Layer 1 is turned off and displayed when Layer 1 is visible, the Visibility property of the object must be set to By Layer.

The properties of the objects are managed on the Parameter Toolbar when editing the model. Details...

Only one layer of the model can be in the current status. All new objects are added to the current layer. The Current status may be set for any layer. At the same time, it automatically becomes visible, active, and available for editing. After making another layer current, the status of the layer that was current before is restored. If the Visibility, Activity, or Editing property of the current layer was changed, then this change takes effect after the layer ceases to be current.

For changing the state and status of layers use Layer tree. The detailed methods for selecting the current layer and changing the layer states are described in the following sections:
