To fill the BOM, the values of the following properties should be specified in the document attached to it:
•for the product – designation and name,
•for constituent parts – properties with which the BOM columns are associated (these properties can be viewed in the Link to property list when Configuring BOM rows in style).
|
The value of the Sizes of document sheets property in the drawing is not specified by the user, it will be determined automatically. The value of the Mass property of the model is usually calculated, but can also be set by the user. |
The property values of any item can be configured in the process of editing its properties. To start this process, select an item and call the Properties command from the context menu. For example:
•to set the properties of a model or graphic document (i.e., product properties), select the root item of the Design Tree and call the Model properties or Document properties command from the context menu;
•To set the properties of a component (that is, the properties of the product constituent part), select it in the Design Tree or in the graphics area and call the Component Properties command from the context menu.
•to set the properties of a graphic macro-element (i.e., the properties of the product constituent part), select it in the Design Tree or in the graphics area and call the Macroelement properties command from the context menu.
After launching the process of editing properties, elements for setting property values appear on the Parameter Toolbar.
Note that the consideration of the constituent parts in the BOM (i.e., the reflection of the properties of these items in the BOM) depends on the state of the Include into BOM option. If this option is disabled, the item will not be included in the BOM. By default, the option is disabled for solids built in the assembly, and enabled for all other items.
Specify the property values and close the process by clicking the Create Object
.
The detailed description of the properties editing process can be found in the following sections:
•Properties of a model, model version, and solid, see also Editing version properties,
•Properties of a drawing/fragment, view/fragment insertion, macro-element.
Also you can use the following for working with properties:
•in the drawing – title block: in it, you can view and edit the values of the Designation, Name, and others properties;
•in the assembly – Property Editor: you can view and edit the values of the assembly properties and its components;
•in any document – Product composition panel: on it, you can view and edit property values of the document and its objects.
