The set of model properties is the same for all versions contained in it. Operations with the set of properties for models with versions and with no versions are the same (see section Property Management).
Note that the set of model properties can be edited when working with any of its versions.
Property values may vary for different model versions.
When creating a new version, all values of the properties of the original version are copied to it. The Designation property is the exception. Not all the designations are transferred to a new version, but only its base part and code. The version number is generated by the system or set by the user.
Changes to properties made for one of the versions are transferred to the other versions, as well as to variants of the model, for which this version is the original. Properties transfer has certain features.
To edit property values, you can use the Parameter Panel, Property editor, or Document manager.

The name of the version can be changed in the Tree of Versions using the Rename command from the context menu or the <F2> key. |
Editing properties using the Parameter Toolbar
Values of the version properties can be edited when working with the properties of this version on the Parameter Toolbar.
Use the following commands for operating version properties:
•in the Versions tree – the Version properties command in the context menu of the required version,
•in the Model design tree or current version Design Tree – invoke Model properties command from the context menu of the root element of the Tree. In this case, the properties of the current model version are being edited.
The procedure for editing the values of properties in versions and in models is the same. The general procedure for working with properties on the Parameter Panel is described in section Working with properties on the Parameters Panel.
Editing properties in the Property editor and Document manager
Properties of the current version can be edited in the Property Editor (see sections Property Editor and Setting property values).
To change the property values of several versions, use the Document manager. You can configure columns display with all the necessary properties and set the values of the properties for different versions.
Property values in the Document manager can be edited in the cells of these properties. Except for the following properties:
•Designation — to be edited in the Designation dialog,
•Material, Density, Mass — to be edited in the Center of mass properties dialog (see section Setting a material in a model document. CMP Recalculation),
•BOM Section — editing is performed in the dialog box Select Section (see section Adding BOM section and item,
•Substitute material and Coating values are selected from an external reference (the reference must be connected to the KOMPAS-3D system).
The property editing dialogs are invoked by double-clicking in the cell of the corresponding property or by clicking the ellipsis button on the right side of this cell.
|
The material can also be selected from the density reference file or from the external Reference connected to KOMPAS-3D. To do this, use the Select a material from the list and Select material from the reference buttons on the Manager toolbar panel. |
The document manager may contain properties created from variables. Special features of editing these properties are described in sections Assigning values to custom variables and Additional operations with variables.
