To select an individual sketch object, set the cursor on it (the object will be highlighted) and click the mouse.
In case the selected object has intersection or tangency with another object on the same sketch, only the part of it up to the point of intersection or tangency will be highlighted. That is the area which will be used in the operation. If you need to select the entire sketch entity, use the Picking Over command from the context menu on the highlighted entity. Details...

To select an area in the sketch, position the cursor inside this area (it will be highlighted) and click using the mouse.

To select the sketch entirely, click the sketch itself in the Design Tree. In cases which do not allow using of individual sketch objects (for example, while setting a section in the extrusion operation), to select a sketch, click on any of its objects in the graphic area.

The selected sketch/area/object (or part of it) will be highlighted in the graphic area. The name of the sketch will appear in the corresponding field on the Parameters Toolbar. If an area is selected, the name will be proceeded by the word Region, and if a separate object or its part is selected, the word Curve.

Some operations do not allow to use a full sketch, but you can always use individual sketch objects. For example, while creating Points on Curve You can specify a sketch curve, but you cannot select the entire sketch.

While working with an assembly, you can select not only a sketch created directly in the assembly but also a sketch that is part of one of its components.

Notes on selecting a sketch in a component:

To select a sketch, specify it in the Design Tree or use a selection frame in the graphic area to enclose all objects of the sketch. You can also select the sketch when a filteris enabled.

If one of the sketch objects is specified in the graphic area, only that object (or part of the object up to the point of intersection or tangency with another object) will be selected.

Selection of the sketch area is not available.
