Transformation of solids and surfaces to polygonal objects |

To transform solids and/or surfaces to polygonal objects, use the Convert to a polygonal object command
.
Instructions
1.Specify the solids and/or surfaces to be represented as polygonal objects. Each selected solid and surface will be transformed into a separate item.
In the graphic area, to select a solid/surface, you need to specify its associated object (face, edge, vertex), and in the Design Tree, specify the solid/surface feature or the solid/surface itself if the Tree has a structural representation view.
Names of the selected objects/surfaces are displayed in the Objects field on the Parameters toolbar.
2.You can select a coordinate system relative to which polygonal objects will be located — their vertices will be expressed in the selected coordinate system.
To select the coordinate system, use the SC list in the Coordinate System section. If necessary, you can create a local coordinate system without interrupting the operation. To do that, use the Design LCS button
, located next to the list. After pressing the button, the subprocess of creating the LCS starts. Specify the LCS parameters and click Create object. The system will return to the process of transforming bodies and surfaces. The new LCS will be added to the list of coordinate systems and will be automatically selected.
3.If necessary, set the name of the created object and the properties of its display using the controls located in the Properties section. Management of color and optical properties of objects...
|
In case several solids or surfaces are transformed, the specified properties will be applied to each of the resulting polygonal objects. |
4.To complete the operation, click Create object
.
One or more polygonal objects will be added to the model, depending on the selection of solids/surfaces.
Each polygonal object is displayed in graphic area as a triangulation grid over imposed on source solids/surfaces. The Design Tree contains a name and the icon of the polygonal object
.
Operations used to create source solids/surfaces are saved in the model. The set of solids and surfaces in the model does not change.
5.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.
