To hatch a graphic document area, use the Hatch .

Step-by-step instructions

1.Set the hatching boundaries. To do this, specify a point inside the area that you want to shade. The system will automatically determine the possible boundaries within which the point is indicated. The name of the resulting contour will appear in the Borders field {1}of the Parameter Panel. A hatch phantom is displayed inside the contour.

This method can be used to set a region both in the current view and in a view that is not current. In the latter case, the view automatically becomes current one.

The hatch area may consist of one or more closed circuits, including those not connected to each other. All the contours should belong to the same view.

Contours that limit hatch regions can intersect. The resulting intersection areas does not hatch.

To set all hatch regions, specify the point inside the desired regions in sequence.

If necessary, you can refuse the selected hatch region by removing its name from the field Borders or by clicking inside the hatching area.

There are also other ways of defining hatch borders: specifying boundary objects, creating a temporary broken line, building contour.

2.Using a Type group, select how to display the hatching inside the object borders:

Region — hatching the entire area inside the borders,

Band — construction of hatching band along the border.

For band hatching, the width of the band and its location (to the left or to the right of the border) are specified.

To construct a hatch strip you can use both a closed and open border line. An open line can only be built by specifying objects or assembling contour.

3.Set the display options for hatching – style, color, pitch, slope angle. If necessary, reposition the hatch base point. Details...

All changes to hatch parameters are displayed on the phantom.

4.To finish building hatch, click Create object .

5.To complete the command, click Finish .
