To plot a surface by sections, use the Surface Surface
.
The parameters of the lofted surface are configured in the same way as the parameters of the lofted element.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the section objects in the graphic area or in the Design tree.
The names of the selected objects will appear in the Sections field in the General section of the Parameter Panel. You can build one or more sketches and use them as sections. More details on setting sections...
2.Select the guide line of the surface by sections in the graphic area or in the Design tree if needed.
The name of the object is displayed in the Guiding Line field in the Main section of the Parameter Panel. More details on setting the guiding line...
3.Set the surface plotting methods of the terminal sections (first and last).
To select the method, use the Initial section and Final section groups of buttons. The following methods are available.
Automatically,
By Normal,
By object,
Dome.

All the parameter values are displayed in the graphic area as the phantom of the surface.
4.You can close the path of connection of sections. To do that, enable the Close Path setting. Details...
5.You can add faces corresponding to the start and end sections to the surface. To do that, please enable the Close Surface setting.
6.If needed, select the connected points of sections manually (they are determined automatically when you plot a surface). To do this, use the elements located in the Connection section.
To specify the points to be connected, click Add chain
button (the button is available if at least two sections are indicated). The process of creating a chain of connected points will start. Set the points on each section. Create the required number of chains. More details on setting the connected points manually...
7.You can change the shape of the lofted surface. To do that, select the guiding curves. To do this, use the elements located in the Guide curves section.
Select the objects in the graphic area or in the Design tree.
The name of the object is displayed in the Curves field. More details on setting guide curves...
8.You cat set the name of the lofted surface and its display parameters using the controls in the Properties section on the Parameter Panel. Management of color and optical properties of objects...
9.To complete the operation, click Create object
.
The lofted surface will be displayed in the graphic area with the
icon.
10.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.

When editing the operation Lofted Surface operation, the Parameter Panel contains the Creation Options section with the Create with matching Use this button if the original section objects are replaced with other objects.
