To determine the position of a specified point in the current coordinate system, use the Point Coordinates
.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Pick a point to measure coordinates in one of the following ways:
•click in the graphics area,
•use the geometric calculator in the Point position field menu on the Parameter Panel.
2.Configure the measurement parameters. Details...
You can quickly view the measurement results, or you can enter them in Information window.
In the quick view, the coordinates of a point in the current coordinate system are displayed next to the cursor.
The Information window displays the following measured values:
•point coordinates in the current coordinate system,
•distance from the origin to the point,
•angle between the radius vector of the point and the X axis.
The distance and angle are the polar coordinates of a point in the system with the axis coinciding with the X axis of the current Cartesian coordinate system.
You can determine the position of multiple points.
Measurement results can be saved or printed. For this purpose use the Information Window menu commands.
