To set the flat pattern parameters of the sheet part, use the Flat Pattern Parameters command.

After you run the command, specify the required parameters, check the correctness of the specified values using a phantom and complete the operation.

Fixed Face

Set a fixed plane using one of the following methods:

specify the required object in the graphic area: a flat face of the sheet part, a bend face, or a plane tangential to the bend face,

build the construction plane of the desired position by clicking the Build Plane button to the right of the Fixed Faces field.

A fixed plane is set in the same way as during the Unfold operation. Details...

After specifying a fixed plane, a phantom of the unbent part will appear in the graphic area.

If you want to configure flat pattern parameters for several sheet parts, specify the fixed plane for each part.

The name of the selected object(s) is displayed in the Fixed Faces field.

Excluded Bends

You can select bends which will remain bent in the flat pattern. To do this, specify faces of the bends in the graphic area. The names of the selected objects are displayed in the Excluded Bends field.

To select a bent bend split into several portions as a result of building a cut or a strengthening edge, specify all portions of the cylindrical face of this bend.

All changes you make are immediately displayed on the phantom.

View by Flat Pattern

You can set the plane for orientation By Parameters. To do this, click View's plane field, then specify any flat face or plane in the graphic area. The name of the selected object will appear in the View's plane field.

After configuring the flat pattern parameters, the By Flat Pattern orientation will be added to the list of orientations of the model.

By default, the By Parameters orientation is set in the way that the view direction is perpendicular to the face or plane specified as fixed (in case of multiple parts, to the object that is located in the first position in the Fixed Faces field).

Simplifying the flat pattern contour

You can exclude complex cuts in corners between adjacent bends. To do this, enable the Simplified Corner Treatment option in the Additional Parameters section.

More details about simplifying the contour...

Bend Lines

You can enable building of bend lines on faces being unbent. To do this, use the Fold lines toggle switch located in the Additional Parameters section.

Bend lines are built in the same way as in the Unfold operation. Details...

Hiding Objects

When unbending a sheet part, objects such as derivative dimensions, planes, axes, etc. based on sheet elements in a folded state remain in their original places, i. e. they are displayed separately from their base objects.

You can configure the flat pattern mode so that incorrectly placed objects are not shown in it. To do this, use the controls located in the Hiding Objects section. Details...

Properties

You can specify the name of the operation in the Name field of the Name section.

Completing the operation

To complete setup of flat pattern parameters, click Create Object button.

When the flat pattern mode is enabled, the sheet part(s) will be displayed in accordance with the specified parameters.

Once you complete configuring the flat pattern parameters, a corresponding icon will appear under the root element in the Design Tree.
