KOMPAS-3D allows the exclusion of complex cuts in the corners between adjacent bends on the sheet part flat pattern. Such cuts occur during angle capping, as well as when you create bends with slope or expansion.
You can enable simplified flat pattern contour when configuring the flat pattern parameters in the Additional parameters section using the Simplified Corner Treatment option. With the option enabled, lateral sides of extensions of adjacent bends are extended to their intersection line.
Simplified contour is transferred to the flat pattern drawing.

A corner may be formed by multiple bends. An example of flat pattern for such a case is shown in the figure below.

CMP of an unfolded part with simplification can be different from CMP of an unfolded part without such or from CMP of a part whose bends were unfolded using the Unfold command. |

When simplifying the contour of the development, it is possible to keep the circular corner treatment. For this, in a number of commands, serves the option Save during simplification. |
Enabling the Simplified Corner Treatment option is ignored in the following cases:
•one or more bends forming a corner remained folded in the flat pattern, Fig. a),
•lateral sides of the bend extensions forming a corner are parallel or lie in the same plane, Fig. b),
•lateral sides of extensions of the bends forming a corner intersect outside the cut, Figure b); for comparison: lateral sides of extensions in Figure Capping Corners with Various Corner Treatments (above) intersect inside the cut.

Examples of cases when it is not possible to simplify the cut contour:
a) one of the bends remains folded in the flat pattern,
b) lateral sides of extensions lie in one plane,
c) lateral sides of extensions intersect outside the cut.
Simplifying the flat pattern contour while preserving the circular edge processing
When simplifying the contour of the unfolding, it is possible to maintain a circular corner treatment. This is what the Save when simplifying option is for.
