Smoothness Check Parameters |

Configuration of the smoothness check parameters is available if there is at least one surface in the model.
To perform the configuration, use the Smoothness Check Parameters command
.
After running the command, the model appearance will change (if the model smoothness check mode is not enabled in the document) — a sphere with the image printed on it will be reflected in the model faces.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the model display method by clicking the desired button in the Method group and configure the parameters for the selected method:
Zebra — a sphere with stripes on it is reflected in the faces of the model.
You can change the color of the stripes in the Color field. You can also set transparency, stripe interval and width, etc. using the elements of stripe parameters configuration. To change the value of a parameter, move the slider on the corresponding scale using the mouse to the right to increase and to the left to decrease the parameter value, or enter a value in the field to the right of the scale.
Environment Reflection — the faces of the model reflect a sphere with a bitmap image applied to it from a BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or TGA file.
To select the required file, click the name of the Source File field. The standard Open File dialog will appear on the screen.
You can set the following image parameters: offset and scale by horizontal and vertical line, rotation, and transparency using the elements of image parameters configuration. To change the value of a parameter, move the slider on the corresponding scale using the mouse.
The preview area in the left part of the Parameter Panel is used to visually assess the changes in progress — it shows a sphere with stripes or a raster image from a file printed on it. When you change the display settings, the image in the preview area changes automatically.

The path to the folder containing images (i. e. the folder that opens after clicking the name of the Source File field) is defined by the PICTURES variable of the KOMPAS-3D environment. By default, the Samples\Surfaces\Maps subfolder of the main system folder opens. If you prefer a different path to the folder with images, use the Kompas.ini file. |
2.If the borders of the reflected stripes or of sections of the selected image have irregularities, activate the High Drawing Precision option. Borders will become more even.
3.To complete setup of parameters, click Finish
.
If the smoothness check mode is not enabled in the document, the model will return to the previous display. If this mode is enabled, the display of the model will correspond to the specified parameters.

Settings for the model display parameters are saved until the end of the current document session. |
