You can edit a set of curves, edges, or faces in the Set Editor subprocess.

To start the subprocess, select a set row in the Parameter Panel register and click the Edit button next to the register (the button appears after the set is selected).

The following actions are available in the subprocess:

•change in the criteria for selecting objects,

•change of the initiating object,

•editing the list of restricted objects,

•change in the angular contact clearance (only for sets of tangent objects),

•reassembly of the set,

•view the scope of application.

To finish working in the subprocess and save your changes, click the Create Object button .

If you want to discard the changes, click the Finish button .

The system will return to executing the current operation.

Changing the conditon for selecting objects

To change the condition used to select objects, expand the Condition list and select the desired option.

The set will be rebuilt. It will include the original initiating object and objects that satisfy the new condition.

The selected objects will be highlighted in the graphic area.

When editing a set of curves, you can also change an additional setting—selecting curves in their entirety or in parts. To do this, use the Select parts of curves , located to the right of the field Condition. The button is displayed if the selection of curve segments is available in the current operation. More information on selecting curves in their entirety or in parts...

When the button's state changes, the form is re-rendered.

Changing the initiating object

To change the set object relative to which all other objects are selected, select the Initiating Object field and specify the desired object in the graphics area.

The set's elements will be reselected based on whether the specified condition is met for the new initiating object. As a result, the composition of the set may change or remain the same.

If you need to completely change the contents of a set, delete the existing set and create a new one.

Editing the list of bounding objects

The list of exclusion criteria includes objects that must not be included in the current set, even if they satisfy the condition specified for that set.

A set for which at least one exclusion object is specified is marked in the log with the symbol “*”.

Specifying exclusion objects allows you to exclude certain objects from the current set and prevent the addition of objects located after the specified one.

The list of limiting objects is displayed in the Bounding Objects field.

Objects are added to the list:

•manually in the set editing subprocess,

•automatically as a result of deleting other sets and individual objects from the register containing the current set.

Depending on whether an object prevents the selection of other objects or not, it can be:

•restrictive (+) — not only the object itself but also all objects in the chain located after it are excluded from the set,

•conditionally limiting (-) — only the object itself is excluded from the set.

An object added to the list manually always becomes a limiting object (+). Objects that are automatically included in the list can be either limiting (+) or conditionally limiting (-).

To add an object to the constraint list, select the Bounding Objects checkbox and specify the desired object in the graphics area. Only objects from the current set are available for selection..

The selected object is highlighted, its name is added to the Bounding Objects field, and it is marked with a symbol (+).

If a bounding object occupies an intermediate position in the chain of objects, the selection is cleared for the objects located after it, since they are excluded from the set along with the bounding object.

To remove an object from the list of limiting objects, you must select the object again in the graphic area or select its row in the Bounding Objects field and click the Remove button next to the field (the button appears after you select the row).

If necessary, you can clear the list of limiting objects entirely by clicking the Rebuild Set button . Learn more...

Change in the angular contact clearance

If a condition is set for the set Tangent curves and edges or Tangent faces , then there is a Angular tangency tolerance field on the Parameters Panel, allowing you to set a threshold value for angular deviation.

The value in this field indicates the maximum possible angle between the tangents at the vertices of the curve junction (edges) or between the normal vectors to the faces along the junction line, at which the joined objects are considered to be tangent to each other and are added to the set.

By default, the angular contact tolerance is 0.5 degrees. You can enter a different value in the field, within the range of 0 to 10 degrees.

The default value for the angular contact tolerance is configurable.

Rebuilding the set

You need to rebuild the set if you want to clear the list of limiting objects and return to the full composition of the current set. To do this, click the Rebuild Setbutton.

The Bounding Objects field will be empty.

The set will be formed relative to the specified initiating object without restrictions. The set will include the initiating object and all objects associated with it that satisfy the current condition and fall within the scope.

For the condition Tangent curves and edges or Tangent faces objects are selected based on the current value of the angular contact tolerance.

View the application area

The Application area field is used to view the application area. This field displays the objects that make up the scope of the current set. For example, for a set of faces, it may display the name of the body whose faces are included in the set when a specified condition is met.
