You can configure the list of variants to be used for assembly components when the assembly is opened in the Opening parameters of setting dialog box.
To access this section, enter the command Settings — Parameters...
and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Files — Opening parameters.You can also access the section using the command File — Opening parameters.

Procedure for applying variants |
A field containing a list of options that will be used for assembly components when those assemblies are opened. By default, the list contains only lines As saved and By default. In the first case, the build components are loaded with the variants that were present when the build was last saved; in the second case— with current versions (or variants) are not taken into account. To ensure that the correct variants are applied to the components when they are loaded, add these variants to the list. You can add model composition variants and variants of model representation. The variants should be listed in descending order of priority. Use the buttons to the right of the list to configure it. You can remove the added options from the list. Add |
This button allows you to add a row to the list. The added row contains a field for entering the option name. By default, the added row is placed at the end of the list. If necessary, move it to the desired position |

Edit |
This button allows you to edit the text in the selected list item. The As Saved and Default items cannot be edited. |

Move up / Move down |
These buttons allow you to move the selected row up or down by one position, i.e., to increase or decrease the priority of the corresponding variant. |

Save to file |
This button allows you to save the configured list of options to an XML file. When you click it, a file save dialog appears on the screen. |

Read from a file |
This button allows you to load a list of options from an XML file. When you click it, a file open dialog appears on the screen. |

Undo changes |
This button restores the settings that were in effect at the start of the current parameter editing session (i.e., when the dialog box was opened). |
After configuring the opening settings, click the Apply and close button. To exit the dialog without saving your changes, click the Cancel button.
The change will apply to builds opened after the change is made. Builds that are already open will remain as they are.
