Automatic creation of grids of centers and center marks in the associative view

An associative view from the model may contain circles which are projections of various model objects — faces, curves, sketches, etc. Symbols of centers of these circles are created automatically if the Symbols of centers option is enabled in the Center Marks view parameters list in Center Marks section.

If this list also includes the Round grids of centers and Linear grids of centers options, then for the projections of objects obtained using an array on a concentric or parallelogram grid, grids of centers are created instead of center marks:

round grid of centers — for an array by concentric grid,

linear grid of centers is created for an array by a parallelogram grid.

The inclusion of these options will not extend to projections of objects constructed by other arrays. Only center marks can be created automatically for them.

A round grid of centers is created with a center mark.
If there are several concentric grids in the view, one center mark will be created — for the round grid of the largest diameter.

If the drawing contains a projection of an array whose source object is another array and it was created in KOMPAS-3D version 19 or earlier, then to display the grids of centers on all array instances, a reconstruction of the drawing is required.

If there are several concentric circles in the view, one center mark will be created — for the circle of the largest diameter.

Automatically created grids of centers and center marks formed when creating associative views are automatically given the associativity constraint.

Options for Round grids of centers, Linear grids of centers, and Center marks can be enabled both during the creation of the view and later when adjusting its parameters using the View Properties command from the context menu. After enabling the options, center marks and grids of centers will be created automatically.

Manual creation of grids of centers and center marks in the associative view

If you need the designations of center marks/grids of centers to be shown not for all projections in the associative view, but only for some of them, you can disable the options for automatic creation of these designations and manually plot the required ones. Manual creation of designations may also be required if the automatically created annotations were mistakenly deleted during the drawing process.

To ensure that the created designations are associatively linked to the objects specified for their placement, before creating designations, enable the drawing. parametric mode. Then, in case of changes to these objects, the designations will be rebuilt.

To create a designation of the center of a circle, you can use the command Center Mark or Auto Centerline. Designation is created in a usual way.

Grids of centers for projections of array instances are created using the Round grid of centers and Linear grid of centerscommands. To set objects for building the grid while the command is active, just press the Auto button (the button is located to the right of the Objects field in the Parameter Panel) and specify the projection of one of the array instances. Projections of the remaining instances of this array will be determined automatically.

Working with grids of centers and center marks

Designations of center marks and grids of centers created automatically can be edited in the same way as those created manually. You can select a designation with a mouse and change its parameters and/or configuration, or to start the process of editing and to make changes in this process by double-clicking the object.

To delete a designation, select it with a mouse click and press <Delete> or invoke the Edit — Delete command.

If the automatically created designation was deleted, it can be recovered only by undoing the deletion. If necessary, you can manually create a designation to replace the deleted one.

To delete all automatically created grids of centers and/or center marks of the associative view, run setup of the view parameters and disable the corresponding options in the Create — Designations in the Drawing list in Center Marks section (for designations created manually, disabling the options has no effect).

If you need to restore all designations later, enable the appropriate options again during configuration of view parameters.

When enabling/disabling Round grids of centers, Linear grids of centers, and Center Marks options, consider the following features:

A grid of centers is automatically created only for those objects that do not have a center mark, whether created automatically or manually.

Automatic creation of designations is performed once immediately after enabling the options. In the future, these designations may be deleted, but the options will remain enabled. If you need to recreate all designations again, you should disable the options, and then, during the repeated setup of the parameters, enable them again.

The current state of options affects the creation of new designations in case of editing the model projected into the view — if the options are enabled, the new designations will be created in the view, and if they are disabled, they will not.
