To create a round hole in the sheet part, use the Hole in Sheet Solid command .

Step-by-step instructions

1.Specify the flat face of the sheet part on which the hole will be located. A phantom of the hole is displayed in the graphic area. More details on hole placement...

2.Set the hole diameter in the Diameter field.

3.Select a method of hole creation by clicking the required button in the To face group:

By Thickness — if the hole includes the bend, the hole passes to it as a "wrapper"; the depth can be determined automatically or entered manually;

For Depth or For Depth — if the hole includes the bend, the hole does not pass to it as a "wrapper"; the depth can be specified by a number or by indicating a face.

4.If necessary, enable the Perpendicular border option (available if the For Depth or For Depth button is pressed in the To face group). The state of this option determines the shape of the flange (side faces of the hole):

when the option is enabled, the edge takes such a shape that it is perpendicular to the sheet plane after unbending the bend,

when the option is disabled, the edge is trimmed by the cylindrical surface of the hole; such an edge is generally not perpendicular to the sheet plane after unbending the bend.

5.If required, create a centerline in the hole. To do this, expand the Additional Parameters section and enable the Axis option. The centerline will be displayed on the hole phantom.

6.If required, set a coordinate system to place the hole relative to. To do this, use the Coordinate System section. Details...

7.If required, set the name of the hole and properties of its surface display using the controls located in the Properties section.

8.To complete the operation, click Create Object .

9.If the construction results in a solid consisting of multiple parts, then after completing the operation, the Modify Set of Parts process starts. Leave the parts you need.

10.To complete operation of the command, click Finish .

After completing the above steps, a round hole will appear in the sheet part, and its icon will appear in the Design Tree. If the hole was created with a centerline, then the axis icon is displayed in the Design Tree as a subordinate object of the hole.

The hole including a bend can be built so that changing the bend state becomes impossible.
