Sorting and grouping of constituents on the Product Composition panel

Scroll

The order of displaying constituents on the Product Composition panel is determined by the current BOM style. The BOM style included in the current is considered current. BOM description. The following data is extracted from a BOM style:

list of sections by which the constituent parts are distributed,

The sorting type of composite parts in each section.

If the document does not contain a BOM description, the component parts are divided into sections and sorted according to the default setting, which corresponds to the style Simple BOM GOST R 2.106-2019.

Distribution of constituent parts across sections

The section where the constituent part is located is determined by the value of the BOM section property of this constituent part. To include a component in one section or another (or move it from one section to another), you must Set or change the value of a Section property in the BOM for this component part. The set of sections from which selection is possible when setting the value of the property is determined by the current BOM style.

Empty sections cannot exist in the Product composition panel. If the last constituent part of any section, for example, Other Products, is moved to another section, then the section Other Products will automatically disappear. And vice versa: if in the absence of the section Other Products the property BOM Section assigns any component the value Other Products, then such a section will appear and will include this component.

A number of constituent parts follows the name of the section in brackets.

For displaying blocks of nested and additional sections in the Product BOM panel, the multi-level structure is not used? which is similar to present in the Select Section dialog.

The information on section placement is contained in its name: in addition to the section's own name, it includes the block name and — for blocks of nested sections — the name of the section where the block is nested. For example, parts belonging to the section Parts in the Spare Parts Kit block, nested in the Kits section, are displayed in the section named Parts. Spare parts kit. Kits.

Sorting and grouping of constituents in the section

The order of the constituent parts in each section is determined the sorting configuration made for this section in the style of the current BOM. Sorting is performed by the property corresponding to the BOM column selected during setup; the sorting type is the one assigned to the column. For example, style Simple Specification GOST R 2.106-2019 prescribes sorting assembly units and parts by the property Designation, and standard items and materials by the property Name. The component parts in the Documentation section are sorted by Designation, the type of sorting — for documents section; sorting type in the remaining sections — complex ascending.

The grouping of constituent parts in sections is based on the same properties that are used for sorting: constituent parts with the same property value used for sorting in the section are combined into a group. Thus, if the style Simple Specification GOST R 2.106-2019 is used, assembly units and parts are grouped by Designation (i.e., components with the same designation are grouped together), stock products are grouped by Name, and so on.

Properties of all constituent parts of the group can be change the simultaneously.

A number of constituent parts follows the name of the group in brackets.

You can disable grouping for individual components, if needed. It is produced in the in the subordinate mode of working with BOM items by disabling the Group option in the properties of the BOM item, the corresponding constituent part. Details...

An additional sorting method for BOM items within a section is splitting into subsections, i.e., assigning subsection numbers to the BOM items within the section. Sorting is first performed by these numbers, and then within the resulting sets, the constituent parts are sorted according to the section settings. More details on the sections...

If the list of subsections is specified in the current BOM style, you can select a subsection from this list when setting/changing the property of the BOM section in the BOM item. If the list of subsections in the style is not defined, then the assignment of the subsection is carried out in in the subordinate mode of working with BOM items using the designation of subsection number For the BOM item, the corresponding component.

Changing the current BOM style

To change the BOM style according to which the item constituents are displayed in the Item Composition Panel, press the Select sample specification button . In the dialog that appears, specify the detailing library (*.lyt) containing the desired style, then select the style from this library and click the Apply button. If a style is selected that is not included in any of the existing BOM descriptions in the document, a new BOM description is created with the specified style.

After changing the BOM style, the constituent parts of the product are re-grouped into sections and sorted. At the same time, the constituent parts are placed in sections and subsections that have the same numbers as their previous sections and subsections. For example, the items of the third subsection of the fifth section will still remain in the third subsection of the fifth section, although the header of the fifth section in the newly assigned style may be different.

Items from sections with numbers that are not found among the section numbers of the newly assigned style are displayed in a special unnamed section. He is located at the bottom of the Product Composition Panel, after the 'usual' sections. If necessary, you can change the value of the BOM Section property for the component, thus moving it to one of the "regular" sections. However, since a property can store only a single value, as a result of reverting the BOM style, the component part will again fall into the special unnamed section.

Only those components that are displayed in the 'regular' sections of the Product Structure Panel will be included in the BOM for the assembly. Composite parts from the special unnamed section will not appear in the BOM.
