Data for the bill of materials existing in the assembly model can also be transferred to the drawing containing projections of this model. They are displayed in the drawing as BOM items, you can view them in the subordinate mode of working with BOM items or on the Product BOM panels. When these data are available, you can obtain the assembly BOM by calling in its drawing the command Create BOM by document.

If the drawing contains views of different assemblies, then the data for the BOM is transferred from that assembly from which into the drawing the properties are transferred. Cannot get properties from one model and data for BOM from another.

When creating the first associative view of an assembly in the drawing, the transfer of data for the specification from it is automatically enabled, provided that the transfer of properties of this assembly to the drawing is enabled (i.e., the switch is on). Connect to model properties; by default, it is enabled for the first associated view).

In the future, you can disable (and re-enable) the transfer of data for the bill of materials into the drawing when you edit the title block or modify the drawing properties. To that end, the option Receive data for specification on the Parameters panel is used. This option is available if the switch Connect to model properties is enabled. As long as the option Receive data for specification is enabled, all data modifications for the BOM made in the assembly will be transferred to the drawing. If the option is disabled, data for the BOM obtained from the assembly is deleted from the drawing (if there were manually created BOM items in the drawing, they will remain). You can check it by including in the drawing. Subordinate mode of operation with specification objects.

When creating an associative view of another assembly in the drawing, the transfer of its properties is disabled by default, i.e., neither properties nor data for the BOM will be transferred. If the transfer of properties is enabled, then they will be transferred, and the data for the BOM will or will not be transferred depending on the state of the option Receive data for specification at the time of view creation.

Later, when working with a drawing that contains views of different assemblies, you can change the model from which properties are transferred to the drawing, and then enable or disable retrieval of data from it for the BOM. This configuration can be done when editing the title block or modifying the drawing properties.
