Transferring properties from the model to the associative drawing |
Scroll |
Due to the presence of a link between the model and the drawing containing its associative views, you can pass the values of properties set in the model into the drawing.
The list of transferred properties is given in section Model properties in an associative drawing.
The properties which received the values from the model retain association to this model: if a property value changes in the model, then after Re-building a drawing The value of this property in the drawing will also be changed.
To enable/disable transfer of properties, the Connect to model properties toggle switch, as well as a list of drawing properties that allows to select which properties will be passed to the drawing and which not are used. These elements are displayed on the Parameter Toolbar in the following processes.
•Creation Standard or Arbitrary types of. For more details on the transfer of properties when creating a view...
•Filling the title block of an associative drawing
•Editing properties of the associative drawing
You can configure transfer of properties in any of these processes.
|
Setup of passing the properties while filling in the title block or editing the properties is available if the drawing contains at least one associative view. |
|
If the transfer of properties from the model into its associative drawing is enabled, then you can enable or disable Passage of BOM data existing in the model into this drawing. |
The properties being transferred are used for filling the title block of a drawing and for setting a sign of majority surface finish.
Properties can be transferred to the drawing from one model only. If a drawing contains views of several models, it is possible to select any of them for the transfer of properties. For details on choosing the model-source of properties...
If necessary, values of some properties can be passed from a model, and the values of others can be set in the drawing. Selection of transferred properties and values assignment in a drawing are described in detail in the following section.
Selecting properties to be transferred. Managing property values
The property list of a drawing is displayed on the Parameter Toolbar as a table. The Source column of this table allows to enable and disable transfer of properties from the model. The options contained in its cells are used for that. Options are displayed in the lines of those properties which can be transferred from the model. If an option is enabled, then the value of property is transferred from the model, and if it is disabled – then is set in the drawing.
During creation of an associative view, the list contains only the properties which can be transferred to the drawing from the model. It is displayed if the toggle switch Connect to model properties is in position I (enabled). In this case, the values of all properties which are in the list are transferred to the drawing. It is impossible to disable transfer of a specific separate property – options in the lines of properties are enabled and unavailable.
|
If a property value was set manually in the drawing, then during creation of a view the option in the line of this property is disabled. Its value will not be transferred from the model. If you need to transfer the value, enable the option. |
Further on, you can enable and disable options in the list of properties while Editing the title block or modification of the drawing properties.
If an option in the line of a property is disabled, its value transferred from the model is not removed. It is saved in the drawing as a property value of the drawing but loses link with the model. You can change this value. If further on the option is enabled, the value set manually is overridden by a value from the model.
If it is required that the value of a property be set in the drawing, it is not mandatory to disable the option in the list preliminarily. It is disabled automatically upon manual input of a value.
|
The value of some properties may be not set in the model on the moment of passage into the drawing. These properties are not shown in the list of properties while creating a view, and while later on handling the list the options are not displayed in the lines of these properties. However, these properties have a link with the model, and if their values are set in the mode, they are passed into the drawing. |
|
If the material designation in the associative drawing was edited by means of adding spaces, hyphenation of lines, or tabulation, then the Material property does not lose a link to the model. •If the material in the model changes, then designation of a new material is transferred to the drawing; changes to the original designation are not saved. •If the material in the model remains the same, then the material designation in the drawing is displayed with account of added spaces, line breaks, or tabulation. |
Selecting a model to transfer properties
If a drawing contains associative views of several models (these can be various model documents or various design versions of the same model), then you can select the model to transfer property values from.
The model is selected when you Editing the title block or at Working with drawing properties. In the first case, the list of models used for selection is in the Drawing properties pane of the Parameter Panel, and in the second case – in the Primary sector of this pane.
Step-by-step instructions
1.The list of models on the Parameter Toolbar contains all the models whose views are in the drawing. In the line of model from which the data is transferred into the drawing, the enabled option is displayed.
To select another model, enable the option in its row. Values in the property list on the Parameter Toolbar will change.
2.If necessary, you can browse the image of the selected model. For this, press Enable viewing of documents
button. The image of model is shown on the Parameter Toolbar below the list of models.
3.Complete the process of editing the title block or properties by clicking the Create object
.
Values of properties will be transferred to the title block and into the majority surface finish designation.
|
If selection of a model is made while editing the title block, then the value in its cells are changed immediately after selection of the model (before completion of editing the title block). |
|
If the values of some formerly passed properties are not set in the selected model, then these values are deleted from the drawing. For example, if parameters of the majority surface finish were transferred from the previous model, but they were not set in the selected model, then the majority surface finish symbol is deleted from the drawing. |
