General information about properties of a graphic document and its objects

Scroll

When working with a drawing (fragment), you can change properties of this drawing (fragment) and properties of a view insertion (for a drawing), of a fragment insertion or macro-element.

To specify properties, use the following commands: Document Properties, View Insertion Properties, Macroelement properties, etc.

You can transfer properties of view and fragment insertions to a drawing document and fragment insertions to a fragment document. To that end, Copy Properties In the dialog Property Management.

When working with a drawing, note the following features.

Values of the properties Designation, Name, Material, Weight, Developed by, Checked by, Approved by, Technological control, Standard control can be set in the Parameter Panel (Document Properties command), in the Property Editor, and in the title block of the drawing. After filling in the title block, values of these properties are transferred to the properties list of the document and after editing in the Parameter Toolbar or Property Editor they are transferred to relevant title block cells.

The property Specification Section is filled in if the option Include in specification is enabled for the macro-element or insert, and it is present in the document. BOM description. For a fragment insertion, this property value can also be set in the source file. If necessary, the value of an object’s BOM Section property can be changed in the drawing.

The property Position is filled under the same conditions as for the property Specifications section. Initially, the value of the property Position is auto-calculated. After Linking drawing to BOM There the items are sorted, and reference numbers are calculated. Values obtained from the calculation are transferred back to the drawing (provided that positions included in the composition of geometry (corresponding BOM items).

In an associative drawing, you can view properties of the source model of associative views, of its components and solids.

Model properties in an associative drawing

Values of the following properties can be transferred to an associative drawing from a model document.

Designation (if the designation is composite, then all parts of the designation, except for the code, are sent from the model to the drawing; the specifics of simple and composite designations are described in the section) Designation,

Name,

Material (applies only to detail drawings, along with the property Material, parameters of hatching (style, color, and angle of hatching) set in the model are transferred to the drawing, see section Notes on using hatch specified in a model,

Density,

Mass (a part’s mass is calculated according to its shape and material density; an assembly mass is determined as the total mass of its components),

Developed by,

Checked by,

Approved by,

In–process inspection,

Compliance assessment,

Precision Class,

Majority Surface Finish Sign and Parameter.

Property values are transferred if they are set in the model and if transfer of these properties is enabled. More details on transferring properties from the model to the associative drawing...

Property values are transferred to the drawing’s properties, title block and majority surface finish symbol.

Filling the title block of an associative drawing

Receiving parameters of surface roughness from the model

Transferred properties can be edited in a drawing using the Document properties, in the Property Editor, if during filling in the title block. If the value of the transferred property is changed in the drawing, then this property’s connection with the model is disabled.
