Linear dimension from common base |
Scroll |
Linear dimension from common base is a group of simple linear dimensions the first snap points of which coincide.
Parameters are set separately for each dimension in the group. If all dimensions must have the same parameters (e.g. dimension type, arrow display parameters, etc.), call the Remember setting command from the button menu
in the header of the Parameters Panel. You will see a tick mark next to the command name, and selected parameters will be stored for subsequent dimensions.
Dimensions included in the group are independent objects. They can be selected, edited and removed separately.
To create a group of linear dimensions with a common base, do the following.
1.Run the Linear from the common base command
.
2.Set a base point – the first snap point for all dimensions in the group. The first extension line for all dimensions will start in this point.
3.Set the second snap point for the first dimension in the group.
In the graphic region, a phantom of dimension will appear.
4.Determine position of its dimension line using the Type group of buttons:
Horizontal — a dimension line parallel to the OX axis of the current coordinate system,
Vertical — a dimension line parallel to the Oy axis of the current view's coordinate system.
5.Edit the dimension text, if required. To start working with the dimension text, press any alphanumeric key. See section on editing the dimension text...
6.Set the number of decimal places in the dimension text. Details...
7.Set a dimension tolerance. Details...
8.Set up additional dimension parameters, if required: dimension text placement option, arrow display parameters, etc. Details...
9.Set the point defining the dimensional line location.
•If you select automatic, fixed or manual placement of the dimension text, the specified point also defines the text position. After this point is specified, creation of the first dimension in the group is automatically completed.
•If you select to place dimension text on the landing, the specified point defines dimensional line location and start of the leader. In this case, you need to specify one more point – a starting point of the landing. After this point is specified, creation of the first dimension in the group is automatically completed.
10.Specify all points except for the base point to set the rest of dimensions in the group and configure settings of these dimensions.
