Building a Bend by Line

Scroll

A bend by a straight line is built in the sheet part using the Bend by Line command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Specify a straight-line object in the Design Tree or in the graphic area.

The name of the selected object is displayed in the Line field on the Parameter Panel.

2.Specify the outer of inner flat face(s) of the sheet part. The name of the selected object(s) is displayed in the Base Faces field.

A phantom of the bend is displayed in the graphic area. The arrow on the phantom shows the angle calculation direction and the fixed side of the face.

The angle calculation direction can be changed to the reverse by clicking the Change Direction button to the right of the Direction element.

You can change the fixed side by clicking the Change Fixed Side button to the right of the Fixed Side element.

3.In the Angle and Radius element group, set the bend angle and the bend radius.

4.Specify the bend placement method relative to the specified line by clicking the required button in the Location group.

5.In the Flat Pattern section, configure the length calculation of the bend flat pattern.

6.In the Release section, specify the angle release methodby clicking the required button in the Method group.

7.If necessary, set the name of the bend by line and the properties of its surface display using the controls located in the Properties section.

8.To complete the build, click Create Object button.

After completing the above steps, a bend by line will appear in the sheet part and its icon will appear in the Design Tree.

9.To complete operation of the command, click Finish .

Tips

You can set the design direction, fixed side, bend angle and radius in the graphic area using defining points.

You can set linear and angular parameters using the geometrical calculator commands.

You can change the default values of the bend parameters in the Sheet Solid Properties dialog.

You may assign tolerances to operation parameter values specified in linear or angular units. To do this, run the Tolerance command located in the menu of the required parameter, or click the icon displayed in the parameter field (the icon appears if a tolerance is assigned to the parameter value).
