Building an Incision |
Scroll |
You can build an incision in a sheet part using the Incision
command.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify a straight-line object in the Design Tree or in the graphic area.
The name of the selected object is displayed in the Line field on the Parameter Panel.
2.Specify the outer of inner flat face(s) of the sheet part. The name of the selected object(s) is displayed in the Base Faces field.
A phantom of the incision is displayed in the graphic area. The arrow on the phantom shows the angle calculation direction and the fixed side of the face.
The direction of the angle calculation can be changed to the reverse by clicking the Change Direction
button to the right of the Direction element.
The fixed side can be changed by clicking the Change Fixed Side
button to the right of the Fixed Side element.
3.In the Angle and Radius group of elements, set the bend angle and the bend radius of the incision.
4.Specify the placement method of the incision bend relative to the specified line by clicking the required button in the Location group.
5.Specify the size of the incision. Select a method for setting the size by clicking the required button in the Setting dimension group and enter a value in the Distance field.
Whether the incision has a flat portion depends on the combination of values of the bend angle, bend radius, and distance.
6.Specify an option for building an incision — with or without adding material. To do this, use the Add Material option.
7.In the Flat Pattern section, set the length calculation of the flat pattern of incision bends.
8.In the Release section, select the corner relief methodby clicking the required button in the Method group.
9.If necessary, set the name of the incision and the properties of its surface display using the controls located in the Properties section. More details on managing object color and optical properties
10.To complete building, click Create Object
.
11.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.
After completing the above steps, an incision will appear in the sheet part and its icon
will appear in the Design Tree.
Bends of the incision are also displayed in the Design Tree. If required, you can edit any bend.
Tips
•You can set the design direction, fixed side, incision height, bend angle and radius in the graphic area using defining points.
•You can set linear and angular parameters using the geometrical calculator commands.
•You can change the default values of the incision parameters in the Sheet Solid Properties dialog.
•You can assign tolerances to operation parameter values specified in linear or angular units. To do this, run the Tolerance command located in the menu of the required parameter, or click the
icon displayed in the parameter field (the icon is displayed if a tolerance is assigned to the parameter value).
