Groups of similar components: |
Group of sub-assemblies |
Grouping of similar components is enabled and disabled in the General display settings dialog. When grouping is enabled, groups are present in the Tree if the model structure is displayed in it. Table 2. Icons of solids in the document tree
Name |
Description |
Solids section |
A section contains subsections that correspond to solids. Subsections include operations that make up solids. The Solids section and its subsections are present in the Tree if the model structure display is enabled in it. If the design history is enabled, all operations are displayed in the Tree in the order they were created without grouping into subsections and sections. The subsection icon displays one of the possible states of the solid: |
Solid |
•Whole body, |
Solid made up of components |
Solid with disrupted integrity |
Once parts of the solid are connected or integrity of the solid is restored, the icon of a solid made of parts or a solid with broken integrity will be replaced by the icon of a whole solid. |

Table 4. Icons in the Document Tree
Name |
Description |
Current |
•In a model document – an attribute of the current coordinate system in the Design Tree.
•In a drawing — an attribute of the current view; current layer. |
Component is fixed |
An attribute meaning that the assembly component is fixed. |
Dimensions recalculated to allow for tolerance |
An attribute meaning that the assembly component has dimensions recalculated based on tolerances rather than nominal dimensions. |
Defined By |
•(+) sign before the name of a component — an attribute meaning that a component is fully defined by positioning matings; (–) sign — not fully defined. •(+) sign before the name of a sketch — an attribute meaning that a sketch is fully defined by parametric constraints; (–) sign — not fully defined. •(+) sign before the name of a root object, components section, group or branch — an attribute meaning that all constituent components are fixed or fully defined; (–) sign — in all other cases. |
Not defined |
Requires attention |
An attribute meaning that the sketch constraint system may lead to errors in the model. It is recommended to change a set of constraints of such sketch. |
Object consists of parts |
•On a model icon (including a component model) — an attribute meaning that the model contains solids made up of parts.
•On an operation icon — an attribute meaning that an operation resulted in an object made up of parts or the initial number of elements has changed; the number of elements can be modified by calling the Modify Set of Parts command in the context menu. |
Dependence on LCS |
An attribute meaning that the position and/or orientation of the object is set relative to the local coordinate system. |
Object is included in macroelement |
An attribute meaning that the object is included in a 3D macro-element. |
Unfolded bend |
An attribute meaning that the sheet solid with bends is unfolded. |
The component file is read-only |
Indicates that the component file has a read-only attribute. It is displayed if enabled during the configuration of access rights (see section Set Access Rights). |
The object is locked |
An attribute meaning that the object is locked. It is displayed in the following cases: •on icons of objects located under the Indicator of build completion, •on the icon of the object currently being edited and all objects below it, •on the mating icon if the Empty load mode is applied to one or both mating objects, •on the icon of operations, component arrays and matings, if at least one of their original components is locked from being edited, •on the icon of an object that is part of another object locked from being edited, •on the icons of dependent version objects related to the source version objects. |
Rebuilding is required |
An attribute meaning that rebuilding of a model or an associative drawing is required. |
Editing is forbidden |
An attribute meaning that editing of the object is forbidden, however you can unlock editing using the Editing – Allowed or Editing – By layer command of the context menu. |
As part of the product - in parts |
An attribute meaning that a subassembly is represented in the assembly as a set of constituent parts, rather than an assembly unit. |
Editing is forbidden by load mode |
An attribute meaning that editing of the component is forbidden, and you cannot unlock editing (because the component has been locked from being editing because a custom password-protected load mode was applied to the assembly). |
"Uncuttable" component |
An attribute meaning that the component is displayed non-cut in the associative view containing a cut or a model section. |
View with breaks |
An attribute meaning that one or several breaks have been created in the view, and their display is enabled. You can use the Show breaks command from the view context menu to enable/disable breaks. |
Detail view |
An attribute meaning that the associative view does not display the whole projection of the model, but only a part of the projection restricted by a closed contour. You can use the Detail view command from the view context menu to switch between the full view and detail view. |
Excluded from calculation |
An attribute meaning that the component is excluded from calculation. It is present in the Associative Drawing Tree if the assembly projected into it contains excluded components. |
Update required |
An attribute meaning that source objects of the copy of geometric objects have changed in the model. |
Source change is not tracked |
An attribute meaning that the model is not checked for changes to the objects which are source objects for the copy of geometric objects. |
Model data is loaded |
An attribute meaning that data from models that are sources of associative views of the associative drawing have been loaded to this drawing (see section Loading model data needed to create objects). |
Uses context |
An attribute meaning that a model object is created in the context of an assembly, into which this model is inserted as a component, and contextually linked to this assembly. For more details on contextual links between the component and assembly, see section Contextual links of the component. |
