Creating a version in the Versions tree |

Step-by-step instructions
1.Enable the display of the Model versions trees, click Versions 
button in the header of Model tree toolbar.
2.Select a version (except for a mirrored one), which should be the source for the created version, and click Create version 
in the Model Tree Panel header or invoke the same-named command from the context menu. The version parametrization elements will appear in the Parameter Toolbar.
3.In the Designation field the default designation of the version will be displayed. It may include the base part, exported from the original version, as well as the automatically generated version number.

You can change any part of the created version designation. To do this click in the Designation field. A panel will appear on the screen containing the elements of the symbol generation – the input fields for the parts of designation and the button to insert the document code. Generate the designation and press <Enter>.
The order of designation setting
Notes on designation setting:
•changes in the base part of the designation will be exported to other versions of the model (see section Notes on transferring property changes between versions,
•the version number should be unique within the document; if the specified number duplicates the number of an existing version, then a new version will not be created.
You can select the version number from an external reference (Unified system for design documentation). To do so, in the toolbar, click Reference 
. The reference should be connected to KOMPAS-3D.
4.Check the status of the Dependent version toggle switch. If the toggle switch is set to I (enabled), then a dependent version will be created, and when set to 0 (disabled) then an independent version will be created.
5.If required, you can create a dependent mirror version of the model. For this purpose enable the Mirror version option. This option is displayed on the Parameter Panel if the source version has no dependent mirror versions and if the Dependent version toggle switch is set to I (enabled).
6.If you want to specify some additional information about the version being created, add the explanatory text in the Comments field.
7.Configure the color and optical properties of the created version using the elements of the Properties section.
8.Complete the creation of a version in one of the following ways.
•When creating a normal model version, as well as a mirrored version of a model that does not contain any components, click Create object 
.
•When creating a mirrored version of a model containing components, instead of the Create object button, the Continue creating version 
button is displayed in the header of the Parameter Panel. Click this button. The Component mirroring parameters dialog will be displayed. It contains a list of all components included in the model, and is used to configure the mirroring parameters. The dialog is similar to the one described in Mirroring parameters section with the only difference – there is no Select Objects... button. Perform the necessary actions in the dialog and complete the creation of the mirrored execution by clicking OK in the dialog or by clicking Create Object in the Parameter Panel header.
A new version appears in the Versions tree after executing the command. This new version will become the current version automatically.
9.Create all the desired model versions using the same procedure.

You can also create a version in the Design Tree of the current model version. For this purpose call the Create version command from the context menu of the root element. Further steps are similar to those described above. |
