To perform various actions with model versions in the Document manager use the table of versions and the control panel buttons shown in the table (see below). To display them in the Manager, you need to select the Executions element in the Manager tree.

The table of versions contains a list of model versions and values of the version properties.

The list of versions is displayed in the Name column. Its structure repeats the structure of the Model versions tree. Each version in the list has a name and an icon. The icons of all versions, except for the current one, are gray; the current version icon is yellow.

The list contains all the model versions available in the document. List changes, such as adding, moving and deleting versions, are automatically transferred to the Versions tree. You cannot cancel these actions in the Manager.

The set of table columns containing the values of properties of versions is configured using Column settings button (see below). The list of properties is the same for all versions of the model. Values of the properties may be different for different versions.

The values of some properties cannot be changed. Cells with the values of these gray properties. In addition, gray cells are inaccessible for manual input.

Values of some properties (for example, a comment) can be entered directly into the cell. If a special dialog is used to set the value, then after clicking in the cell on the right side of this cell, a button with ellipsis appears. Clicking this button brings up the property value setting dialog. You can also invoke this dialog by double-clicking in a cell.

Property values specified in the document are displayed in black. Values obtained by reference from the source or recorded by the operating system in a file are blue.

Create a dependent execution

The button allows you to create a dependent version model. The starting point for it is the one selected in the Manager’s list of versions. If the original version is mirrored, the button is unavailable.

After you click the button, the new version appears in the Manager list of versions and in the Version tree. It is subject to the original.

 

Create mirrored version

The command is called from the menu of the Create a dependent execution button. It allows you to create a Mirrored version of the model.

The starting point for it is the one selected in the Manager’s list of versions. If the original version has already been mirrored, or the original version itself is mirrored, the command is not available.

After you call the command, a new version appears in the Manager’s list of versions and in the Version Tree. It is subject to the original, i.e. is dependent.

If the initial version is a model with components, then after you call the command, the Component Mirroring Parameters Setup dialogappears. Make the necessary settings and complete the creation of a mirror execution by clicking OK in the dialog or the Create Object button on the Parameter Panel.

 

Create an independent fulfillment

The command is called from the menu of the Create a dependent execution button. It allows you to create an independent model version. The starting point for it is the one selected in the Manager’s list of versions. If the original version is mirrored, the command is unavailable.

After you call the command, a new version appears in the Manager’s list of versions and in the Version Tree. It is located on the first level of the hierarchy and occupies the last position in the list of versions.

Move Row Up

Move Row Down

The buttons move the selected version one position up or down in the list of versions. Buttons are available if the version can be moved to the specified position.

Delete Rows

The button allows you to delete the selected version or several versions selected with the <Shift> or <Ctrl> keys.

Assign as active

The button allows you to make the current version selected in the Manager’s execution list.

Column settings

The button allows you to customize the list of displayed properties and their order in the table of versions. The values of each property are displayed in a separate column.

After you click the button, the Column settingsdialog appears.

Delete Column

The button allows you to disable the display of a column containing values of various properties. To do this, first activate one of the cells in the desired column.

Column display Name can not be disabled.

Insert variable

The button allows you to add to the table of versions a column containing values of various variables. At the same time, a property is automatically created in the document from this variable.

After you click the button, the Variablesappears, containing the set of variables for the current version. If necessary, you can select another version from the drop-down list. The dialog will display a set of variables for this version. After selecting the desired variable, the column with its name is added to the execution table and to the list of displayed properties of the Column settings dialog. If the selected variable corresponds to an operation / size parameter, then the name of this parameter/size is also displayed in the column header.

In the future, you can disable and enable the display of a column with variable values in the same way as other columns in the table.

Display individual tolerances

This button allows to enable/disable display of individual tolerances of control dimensions and parameters of operations whose values are expressed in linear or angular values.

To view the tolerances, the columns with the values of variables of these dimensions and parameters must be added to the table of versions.

Tolerances are shown in the table when the button is selected. You can not only view tolerances, but also change them in a special dialog.Details... about viewing and assigning tolerances...

Parameters for the formation of numbers of new versions

Button allows to enable/disable automatic generation of numbers and additional numbers of new versions and set the formation parameters. In opens the New version numbersdialog.

MP Parameters

The button allows you to set the property values Weight, Material, Density for execution, and also recalculate the model CMP. In opens the Center of mass propertiesdialog.

Select a material from the list

The button allows you to select a material from the the density reference file, which is used by the KOMPAS-3D system by default. On the screen, there appears a dialog for material density selection.

Upon the choice of material, density and style of hatch are set automatically.

The button allows you to select material from the Materials and Assortment Add-On.

Upon the choice of material, density is set automatically.

Read from File

The button allows you to create a set of versions in the document, similar to the one saved in the file ods or xls format. After you click the button, a standard file open dialog appears on the screen. Select the required file and click Open. The list of versions from the file will be exported to the model. Details...

Save As...

The button allows you to save the table of versions as separate documents of the following types:

KOMPAS-Drawings (*.cdw),

KOMPAS–Fragments (*.frw),

KOMPAS–Text Documents (*.kdw),

KOMPAS–Tables (*.tbl),

Text files (*.txt),

ODF spreadsheets (*.ods),

Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (*.xls).

After you click the button, the standard Save File dialog appears on the screen.

Version table saved to file ods or xls format, can be used to create a similar set of designs in another model (see above).

 

Reading and writing an ods format table are possible if the workstation has the means to work with files of this format, for example, the OpenOffice or LibreOffice suite.
