Distance and angle |

To measure the distance and angle (if possible) between the two specified objects, use the Distance and angle
command.
Objects can be specified in any combination, for example, a plane and a vertex, an edge and an axis, two faces, a solid and a face, a solid and a vertex, a solid and an edge, a solid and a component, a component and a component, etc.
The system determines the distance between the objects (if it is not zero) and the angle between them (if the objects are not parallel).
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify the first measurement object. The name of the first object will appear in the Object 1 field on the Parameters panel.
Selecting objects in the graphic area of the model
Selecting objects in the Design tree
|
To facilitate specifying of solids and components in the graphic area, use filter objects. |
2.Specify the second measurement object.
Click with the mouse over the second object or Design tree. The measurement results are displayed next to the cursor. If the objects intersect or are parallel or perpendicular, then the corresponding text also appears in the list of results.
Click the object in the graphic area or in the Design tree. The measurement results will appear in the table in the Result group, the name of the second measurement object is displayed in the Object 2 field on the Parameter panel. In addition, a phantom of the measured distance or angle will appear on the screen.
|
Objects of measurement can be specified before invoking the command. In this case, after it is called, the Object 1 and Object 2 fields will display the names of the objects, and the group Result will show a table with the measurement results. |
3.The distance can be can measured between the specified objects in the given direction. For that purpose, specify a guiding object or draw a design vector by clicking Design vector
to the right of the field guiding object.
Select a measurement result using the toggle Gap/Projection. By default, the on-off switch is set to Gap position. It means that the distance between the projections of objects onto the measurement direction will be calculated.
If the switch is in the Projection position, the length of the projection of the distance between objects is measured in the direction of measurement. More details on measuring the distance in the specified direction...
4.If required, create a measurement object within the model by clicking Create dimension
on the Parameter panel. Details...
After this, the icon
and the name of the created measurement will appear in the Design tree.
5.If necessary, change the accuracy of the measurement results display, as well as the units of measurement of length and angle using the elements of the Information format section. Details... This setting applies to all measurement results displayed in the Information window.
6.By default, only basic information is displayed in the results table. For detailed information disable the Briefly option in the Information format section of the Parameter panel and repeat the measurement.
After the measurement is completed, the command still remains active. You can measure distances and angles between other objects.
