General information about creating surfaces

Scroll

You can create the following surfaces in a KOMPAS–3D model file:

extrusion,

revolution,

by path,

by sections,

by grid of curves,

by point grid,

by point layer,

ruled,

patch,

equidistant,

connection surface,

conical section surface.

You can create an entire surface from its part contained in the model. Details...

You can also import into the surface model recorded in a file with the SAT, IGES, or STEP AP203 format.

If during import of models from files of STL, OBJ and JT formats, as well as as a result of application operation APM FEM, in a model, there may appear polygonal objects.

You can perform the following operations with surfaces:

trimming,

splitting,

extension,

stitching.

You can apply the following operations to individual faces of surfaces and solids:

move,

delete,

slope,

replacement,

editing by modifying radius (for roundings) or diameter (for cylinders and spheres),

arbitrary modifying.

You can also perform the following actions with surfaces:

scaling,

changing position,

saving in a new part file.

You can use the surfaces, for example, for cutting off a part of the model or as an object, to which extrusion is performed.

At the creation stage the surface should be integer, that is, not consisting from separate parts. Otherwise this operation is impossible.
